So it’s official…

For those of you who haven’t heard the news, I think that Alex Hirsch guy (gosh, you guys sure are obsessed with him) posted it here?
For those of you who have heard and stuff…It’s true. Summer’s finally coming to an end. Trust me, Mabel and I both know it’s really really hard information to take in. Growing up, moving on…it can be scary, y’know?
Heck, sometimes even scarier than Weirdmageddon.

First of all, we wanna let you guys know that this askbox isn’t going anywhere. At least, not for a while–That’s what the internet is for, right? Even in California, we’ll be super psyched to answer your questions, and I’m sure Stan, Ford, Soos, Wendy, and everyone else will still be more than happy to respond, too.
But we know that doesn’t magically make everything better, and this transition’s still gonna be hard for a lot of us. So, uh, in light of it all, we here at the Mystery Shack all have a little something we wanna say to you guys.

Me first, me first!
You guys have been the greatest, most fantabulous tourist-fan-people to ever grace the Mystery Shack, okay? Things might be about to change, but that doesn’t mean you have to! Uuse all your fun memories of Gravity Falls and go on your own adventures! Keep being dreamers! And creators! And flying squids!

Grunkle Stan’s right–just because you’re grown up doesn’t mean you have to grow up, y’know?

Er, boy…what can I say that hasn’t already been said, y’know?
Not gonna lie–it’s been a wild ride with these kids, w-with Ford…with everyone, really. And like you, I’m gonna miss Dipper n’ Mabel like crazy. And it’s alright t’be upset about it, y’know? There’s no shame in missin’ someone you care about. Really. I know how it goes.
Just know that in th’ end, everything’s gonna be alright. Things may not always go accordin’ t’plan, but if I’ve learned anythin’ over the span’f my life, it’s that those unplanned mishaps just lead t‘all kinds’f new things.

…Heck, I know mine did.

Hey, dudes, it’s me: Soos!
Listen, man, I’m gonna miss all you dudes like crazy! I know a lotta you guys are scared’f not havin’ much t’do after all this adventure stuff is done, but that’s not true, y’know? Just cause summer’s comin’ to an end doesn’t mean you gotta lose touch with the shack: keep contactin’ askblogs! Keep makin’ fanart! Keep doin’ whatever it is that makes you happy, cause all’f you dudes out there will still have that special bond, right?

Everyone might be far apart in the future, but that doesn’t mean you’re losin’ Gravity Falls entirely!

Aw, yikes, man, this hit me as hard as it did you guys.
But what I wanna talk about is how tight-knit you guys are. A lot of you are major fandom kinda people, right? Well, lemme just say that doesn’t have to change! Sure, Gravity Falls might’ve bonded you all initially, but leaving it doesn’t mean leaving each other if you don’t want to. The friends you’ve made through it all? They’re still your friends, above all else, man!

Transitions are cruddy, yeah, but that’s all the more reason to stick together.

Ah, alright, I–I suppose I’ll finish us off.
Let me conclude this by saying your passion is inspiring. In all my years of traversing dimensions, I’ve never seen people so dedicated or connected to something they love. Sure, every story has its ups and downs, and every book–journal or none–has its end. But rest assured; you’re part of why these stories have such life, and perhaps it’s your turn to write your very own!

But as of now, remember: Ours isn’t over yet!

Finally, all of us here at the Mystery Shack wanna send a special thank you to all the wild and zany forces that make this town the way it is. We aren’t sure where you came from or how you do it (though after some research, I’m beginning to think that Alex Hirsch guy might have some kinda part in all this weirdness…), but one thing’s for certain:
This summer’s been like no other.
Thanks, everyone…and this isn’t goodbye.
